Irish rock legend Bono will be presented with the German Media Prize at a ceremony in the city of Baden Baden next week (24JAN06).
The U2 frontman will be honoured for his efforts to write off debt in the developing world.
The prize is handed out by German market research institute Media Control.
Media Control boss KARLHEINZ KOEGEL says, "Bono is a crusader in service for Africa who uses his fame and success to help the people on the continent.
"His efforts have become a life-task for him, he affects politicians and industry greats. He deserves the German Media Prize."
