Singer Bonnie Tyler is hoping to take Britain to victory by representing the U.K. at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.
The Holding Out for a Hero hitmaker will sing Believe In Me, written for her by Desmond Child, at the competition, to be held in Malmo, Sweden in May (13).
She says, "It is an honour to represent my country and is also a wonderful way to ensure that my song Believe In Me reaches the widest possible audience.
"It is a very strong, catchy and melodic song that appeals to a wide range of people. Desmond Child partially wrote this song at the dinner table at his house in Nashville whilst we were all eating together."
Tyler is one of the biggest names ever to represent Britain at the fiercely-fought annual showdown. Last year (12), veteran crooner Engelbert Humperdinck limped into 25th place, while Blue were 11th in 2011.
