Actress-turned-TV personality Bonnie Hunt staged a mini Jerry Maguire reunion on her chat show on Thursday (09Apr09) when she surprised co-star Regina King with a special guest.
As the Ray star was trying to recall the films she had made with her Jerry Maguire husband Cuba Gooding, Jr., the Oscar-winning actor appeared from behind a door on set.
Hunt played Renee Zellweger's sister in the hit sports and romance film and Gooding, Jr. was cast as the star player represented by her sports agent brother-in-law Tom Cruise.
A stunned King was left lost for words as she embraced Gooding, Jr. and even Hunt admitted she was taken aback by her own surprise.
The host said, "This has made my whole day... That is so fun. I had a dream like that once."
And when the actor revealed he was about to start shooting George Lucas' war movie Red Tails in Europe, King joked, "(Do you) need a wife?"
Gooding, Jr. said, "I've never connected so quickly with an actress as quickly as I connected with you."
King then recalled Janet Jackson had also competed for the role of the actor's wife in Jerry Maguire.
