Argentinean film-maker JUAN DIEGO SOLANAS has won the coveted Bronze Horse trophy at the 16th Stockholm International Film Festival for his movie NORDESTE (NORTH-EAST).
The 39-year-old director's controversial movie about child trafficking was one of 18 films nominated for the top award at the Swedish event.
Vincent D'Onofrio won the Best Actor prize for his part in THUMBSUCKER.
The Best First Film prize was picked up by US director Miranda July for her ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW, while ANNIE GRIFFIN won the Best Script award for FESTIVAL.
