Saturday, August 9th, would have been the late singer's 50th birthday.
Although it may have already been two years since the tragic passing of one of music's biggest icons, Whitney Houston was remembered all around the globe on Saturday (Aug 9th) as it would have been the late singer's 50th birthday.
Houston would have turned 50 years-old
And leading the tributes online was Houston's 21 year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, she took to social media several times throughout the day to celebrate and remember her late mother on this special day.
"GoodMorningWorld ! & AGrandBeautifulPhenomenalWonderful HappyHappyHappyBirthday2my amazingMommy!" she tweeted in the morning. " 2day is YOUR day, Iloveulady! @nickdgordon."
Later on Saturday afternoon, Bobbi commemorated her mother's birthday once again by sharing another tweet, but this one included a pic of a tasty looking cake. "?@REALbkBrown #HappyBirthdaymommy ! #HappyBirthdayWhitney ! #AllAugustAllWhitney #iloveyou ! @nickdgordon @mwhitaker10," the caption read.
Houston, who had a global following after releasing hit tracks such as 'One Moment In Time,' 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' and 'I Will Always Love You,' suddenly died on February 11th 2012 at a Beverly Hills Hotel. The Grammy Award-winning singer's body was discovered in the bathtub of her hotel suit, and it was later determined that the cause of death was an accidental drowning, as well as drug use.
Bobbi paid tribute to her mother via social media
Bobbi didn't take her mother's death very well, and in memory of Houston, she got the letters 'W' and 'H' tattooed onto her wrists in the following months.
