Veteran actor Bob Hoskins bears the scars of his tough upbringing - he was the victim of several stabbings during street fights in London.
The British star was frequently involved in brawls when he was growing up, and he often came off worst when battling a knife-wielding attacker.
He has been left with several horrific mementos of his violent past, including a hole in his nose - but admits he only has himself to blame for the incidents.
The Long Good Friday actor tells Britain's Live magazine, "First I got stabbed in the shoulder and the top of my nose - which really now is just a big hole. Then I got stabbed in the stomach. I was looking at a knife sticking out of my belly thinking, 'He's killed me!'
"(It was) too much mouth and nothing to back it up with... That's basically what it was. I should've backed down and shut up. But the knife couldn't have gone in very far because it eventually fell out... But that's what happened back then. You got through it. You survived."
