Comedian Bob Hope has been given the prestigious honour of Citizen of the Century, by Los Angeles' famous Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The honourary OSCAR winner will be honoured with a plaque outside the HOLLYWOOD ENTERTAINMENT MUSEUM next Tuesday (15APR03), although Hope, who will be 100 years old next month (29MAY03), is not expected to attend the unveiling.

However, FRASIER star Kelsey Grammer and comedienne Phyllis Diller are thought to be accepting the honour on his behalf, which will form part of several plans to commemorate the veteran entertainer's life and career on his landmark birthday.
