Bob Hope's futuristic California home featuring a swimming pool shaped in the entertainer's image has been put on the market for $50 million (£31.3 million).

The six-bedroom mansion in Palm Springs, California was designed for the star by influential modernist architect John Lautner and features a vast, curved circular roof which is meant to resemble the shape of a volcano.

Hope's property includes tennis courts, a putting green and two swimming pools, one of which is shaped in Hope's silhouette.

The entertainer died in 2003, aged 100, and his widow, Dolores, passed away in 2011.
