American singer Bob Dylan and legendary British radio DJ John Peel will both be inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame later this year (05), in recognition of their outstanding contribution to popular culture.

The two music stars, along with a selection of other acts, have been selected by music industry experts rather than the general public, so fans attending this year's induction ceremony can expect an eclectic host of artists instead of mainstream performers.

Peel died suddenly last October (04) following a heart attack while holidaying in Peru - but his influence over popular music in his homeland will see him sit alongside THE Beatles, U2 and Elvis Presley in the UK Music Hall Of Fame.

DJ PAUL GAMBACCINI says of Peel, "He was for years the most important person in popular music in the western world."
