Blur rocker Alex James is adamant the band had nothing to do with the drama at the recent Brit Awards when Adele's acceptance speech was cut short to make way for their performance.
The soul singer scooped two trophies at the music ceremony in London last month (Feb12), but the night was shrouded in controversy when the host was forced to stop Adele as she accepted the coveted Album of the Year prize for 21.
Adele was ushered off to make way for Blur's finale performance, flipping her middle finger at the cameras in protest, but bassist James insists the rockers had no idea what was going on as they prepared to take to the stage.
He tells Bbc Breakfast, "That's live telly. I don't think it overshadowed anything. We were up there backstage and didn't know what was happening until afterwards. I think Adele is amazing and has a fantastic career in front of her."
