Blondie performed a mix of old, new and cover songs at their iTunes Festival gig in London last night (16.09.14).
The American rockers - who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year - interspersed 'Rapture' and 'The Tide is High' with snippets from '(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)' and 'Groove is in the Heart' respectively, while one of the encore tracks, 'War Child' featured Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' as part of the intro.
Frontwoman Debbie Harry donned a black and white suit reminiscent of the artwork for their groundbreaking 1978 'Parallel Lines' for the gig at London's Roundhouse, and the 69-year-old star showed her voice is as strong as ever on crowd-pleasing tracks including 'Atomic', 'Heart of Glass' and 'Hanging on the Telephone'.
As well as classics, the group also played six songs from latest album 'Ghosts of Download', most of which were well received, despite not being as well-known as the other tracks in the set.
Support for the evening came from Chrissie Hynde, who performed a number of her band The Pretenders' tracks to a delighted audience, with 'Talk of the Town and 'Brass in Pocket' going down particularly well.
