Bleachers (formed 2013)
Bleachers is New York indie band and the side-project of Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff.
Formation: Bleachers was first announced in 2013, with Jack Antonoff from Fun. and Steel Train having been working on it throughout the year will on tour with Fun. He kept the project under wraps until the release of the band's first single, though it was first announced in a Facebook post by Mission Sound in 2013.
Musical career: Bleachers released their first single 'I Wanna Get Better' in 2014, with the video having been directed by 'Girls' actress Lena Dunham. The track topped the US Alternative Rock charts and was followed by singles 'Shadow', 'Rollercoaster' and 'Like a River Runs'. The debut album 'Strange Desire' dropped in July 2014 via RCA Records, reaching number 11 on the US charts.
Jack Antonoff gives away some unique remixes as he begins work on album two.
Bleachers have got involved with Google Play's Free Album of the Week promotion by giving away a new album entitled 'Terrible Thrills Vol. 2', which is now available to download completely free of charge for a limited time only - so grab it quickly while the offer lasts.
Jack Antonoff continues his Steel Train tradition with 'Terrible Thrills Vol. 2'
The album is rather a companion album to Bleachers' debut album 'Strange Desire', featuring all the best tunes re-worked by stellar artists such as Sia ('Like a River Runs'), Charli XCX ('Rollercoaster') and Carly Rae Jepsen ('Shadow') among others. It's a reward for all the devotion fans have shown to Jack Antonoff and his latest pop project, as well as all his previous work with the likes of Fun. and, of course, Steel Train. 'Terrible Thrills Vol. 2', in fact, follows Steel Train's 2010 remix collection ('Terrible Thrills, Vol. 1') which had appearances the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Tegan and Sara, and Amanda Palmer, not to mention Jack's older sister Rachel Antonoff.
Life on the road can be tough for a musician. Faced with constant rejections from venues, friends and lovers, some musicians are also forced to face off against tour managers that have rather disturbing personality traits. For one musician, the best way to deal with all of this, is to simply accept it, and move on with his career - no matter who he offends along the way. His obsessive germ phobia doesn't help. Singer Jack Antonoff and the members of his band, Bleachers, give a little bit of insight into the life of a touring band, blurring the lines of reality and comedy.

From Kendrick Lamar to Slayer, this year is definitely one of the best.
Bonnaroo is in full swing and while we've seen some pretty impressive acts so far, the musical forecast shows things are not going to get quieter anytime soon. One of America's biggest and most diverse summer events, fans flock in their thousands to Tennessee this weekend to welcome some of the world's top entertainers.
Friday's line-up is a particularly mixed bag; where you've got music veterans the likes of 80s new wave legends Tears For Fears and 70s R&B band Earth Wind & Fire, you also got newer names such as LA duo Mini Mansions, who recently won acclaim for their second album 'The Great Pretenders', and Brit award winning UK chart toppers Royal Blood. Making some noise on the main What Stage throughout though are house producer Deadmau5, 'To Pimp a Butterfly' rapper Kendrick Lamar and roots rock collective Alabama Shakes.

The unlikely union brings Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff to the US this year.
In what could be one of the most exciting pop team-ups of the year, Charli XCX and Bleachers have announced that they intend to hit the road together on a joint tour over the Summer, hitting the US for their 'Charli and Jack Do America' tour.
Charli XCX will be on her own tour this year too
The pair will co-headline the dates with support from up and coming LA musicians BORNS, kicking off in July at San Diego's Observatory North Park and coming to an end mid-August in Columbus, Ohio. It might seem like a random partnership, but Charli and Bleachers' frontman Jack Antonoff's friendship and creative relationship has blossomed since their 'In Ride Sessions' collaboration whereby Charli remixed Bleachers' 'Rollercoaster' and Jack did the same with Charli's 'Break the Rules' in a crazy mash-up.
D'angelo & The Vanguard, Kacey Musgraves and Songhoy Blues join headliners Billy Joel and Mumford & Sons.
More additions have been announced for Bonnaroo 2015 as the June event draws ever closer. D'angelo & The Vanguard, Kacey Musgraves and Songhoy Blues join an already stellar line-up for this 10-stage bonanza, while the full late night sets are also announced.
Adding to a line-up headlined by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Billy Joel and London Grammy winners Mumford And Sons are soul collective D'angelo & The Vanguard, young country star Kacey Musgraves and Mali four-piece Songhoy Blues. As usual, the epic festival - which is set to play host to a massive 85,000 music lovers - presents one of the world's most diverse line-ups as it prepares to hit Manchester, Tennessee this summer from June 11th to 14th.

Budweiser Made in America is coming soon, but what's it like to be made in Denver, Colorado?
Budweiser Made in America
We explore the diverse Denver music scene as Budweiser unveil the latest in their series of documentaries ahead of the fast-approaching Budweiser Made in America festival.
When Jay-Z embarked on his Budweiser Made in America project, the ethos he wanted to represent was simple; bringing together bands and artists of all genres to celebrate the rich variation that has become the US musical community. And where better to enjoy this multi-genre theme than Denver, Colorado, home to the likes of everyone from gentle folk rock crooners The Lumineers to industrial Goth collective Velvet Acid Christ?
We hit the Minnesota music scene in the run-up to Jay-Z's new summer festival.

Budweiser Made in America festival is on its way and, to celebrate, the beer brand unveil a series of music documentaries in different States: this week we explore Minnesota!
Being such a huge part of the world, America has always borne a massively diverse music ethos. In almost every part of the country you can come across a different musical culture and it's with this idea in mind that world famous rap star Jay-Z decided to create Budweiser Made in America festival. It's sole purpose is to bring together a choice selection of both up-and-coming and well-established artists spanning all genres including rock, hip hop, R&B, electronic, punk... the list goes on.
Jack Antonoff of Fun. is seeking a 'Strange Desire,' and it has to do with his new band, Bleachers.
While pop superstars Fun were off on a well-deserved break after basically taking over the world all of last year, it didn’t mean that the members remained dormant. Lead singer Nate Ruess can be found in the new Eminem music video for 'Headlights,' while keyboardist Andrew Dost is busy composing for film and television, as he recently scored the music for MTV's upcoming scripted series, ‘Faking It.’
Jack Antonoff's new project goes by the name Bleachers
This leaves lead guitarist Jack Antonoff, who is embarking on perhaps the most ambitious venture of any of his bandmates -- a new band by the name of Bleachers. It's not uncharted territory for Antonoff, however, seeing as before he joined Fun, he also fronted the indie-rock group Steel Train. The only difference is this time, it seems like things will be getting a little more weirder. Bleachers, which was revealed this past February, aimed for a big sound with this new music, and it was proven in the first released song, ‘I Wanna Get Better.’ Additionally, the song's music video was directed by Antonoff's girlfriend, Lena Dunham, the star and creator of the HBO hit ‘Girls.’
