Former Black Sabbath frontman RONNIE JAMES DIO is reuniting with former bandmate Tony Iommi for a Sabbath tribute project.

The flamboyant singer, who replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the band's lead singer in 1979, can't wait to reminisce about his brief spell in the metal group.

He says, "We're going to write a couple of tracks for a project that I think is called BLACK SABBATH - THE DIO YEARS.

"I'm sure it'll be interesting to old Sabbath fans and maybe the new fans."
