Billy Ray Cyrus, 50, has revealed the types of food he eats in order to keep in shape. The singer confessed his actual diet is just good old fashion Southern favorites, telling Access Hollywood's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, "I like chicken and dumplings.I've never put any limits on it. I may need to!"
The veteran musician also spoke about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and claimed seeing his children is the only way to cure the blues, saying, "Seeing my kids.Taking my little girl to school, watching her ride a horse". The singer is turning his attention to movies in 2012 and said his latest cropped hairstyle is in preparation for an upcoming movie role, saying, "I'm working on a new character for a film I'm looking at.I'm just trying to develop this guy a little bit". His last appearance on screen came in the television movie 'Christmas Comes Home to Canaan', and before that he starred opposite Jackie Chan in 'The Spy Next Door'. Billy Ray hit the headlines last week after UK singing sensation Adele matched his record for the most weeks on top of the Billboard album chart. Her album '21' has now notched up sixteen weeks atop the chart, matching the success of Billy Ray's 'Some Gave All' in 1992 (which contained his breakout hit 'Achy Breaky Heart'.
Cyrus still regularly releases new music, and his twelfth studio album 'I'm American' hit shelves in 2011. The record comprised solely of patriotic songs, including a re-recording of his single 'Some Gave All'.
