British actress/singer Billie Piper knew pop star Lily Allen would end her self-imposed career hiatus as it is impossible to swap creativity for life as a stay-at-home mum.
The Secret Diary of a Call Girl star began her showbiz career as a teenage singer and at 15 she became the youngest artist ever to debut at the top of the U.K. singles chart with her first release, Because We Want To.
She quit pop in 2003 to move into acting, and she has since married fellow screen star Laurence Fox and had two children - but she is adamant she would struggle to walk away from her career.
Piper tells The Observer Magazine, "I think if you're creative that's a bit unrealistic. You can't stamp it out. But of course there are times when I am like: 'I hate this!' and I just want to be with my children in peace and quiet. But everybody has that. And there are days where you go: 'Ooh, what if I did that...'"
Smile hitmaker Allen raised eyebrows last year (13) when she announced she was re-launching her pop career just four years after she quit to focus on raising a family.
