Actress Billie Piper is struggling to find work in her native U.K., calling the hunt for a job "an endless frustration".
The British beauty is best known for starring in hit TV show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, but now the series has ended she is desperately searching for another role.
She tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I’m just trying to find a job. We’re back to the drawing board. It is what it is. It’s frustrating, it’s tiring. It’s desperate. You slightly lose your mind. You have no confidence and you have too much confidence. It’s an endless frustration, really. That’s the nature of the beast. You have to suck it up and get on with it."
And Piper is convinced many British stars have to emigrate to America in order to find a job.
She adds, "I see that things are getting made a lot faster for less money and there are a lot less opportunities, I think, for actors. There’s not a lot of work in the U.K. I mean, that’s why everyone’s moving to America because that’s where the work seems to be. But it definitely feels like a lot more of a slog to get a gig these days. I suppose that’s a lot to do with our current climate and financial messes."
