Gangster rap pioneers NWA have picked up a new fan more than a decade after disbanding - former US President Bill Clinton.

NWA, whose members included Dr Dre, Ice Cube and the late EAZYE, faced fervent criticism from politicians in their heyday for their lewd and violent lyrics.

And 59-year-old Clinton now counts himself as a rap fan, thanks to his daughter CHELSEA.

He tells Blender magazine, "She said, 'Dad, you've said some things about hip-hop that didn't make any sense, so now you have to improve your education.'

"So she bought me a collection of records, from NWA in the early '80s all the way to the current days.

"I saw what she and so many young people saw in it."
