Visitors to former US President Bill Clinton's presidential library will get a sweet treat at the cafe - cookies made to the recipe of his wife Senator HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON.

The library opened in the former American leader's hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas on Sunday (21NOV04), and visitors needing a snack can sample her chocolate-chip cookies.

The recipe was unveiled as an apology of sorts when her comments on her lack of domestic skills sparked controversy during Clinton's first run for the White House in 1992.

She'd said at the time, "I've done the best I can to lead my life. I suppose I could have stayed at home and baked cookies and had teas."
