Samuel L. Jackson Shoots Down Donald Trump's Claim That They've Never Met

Donald Trump Samuel L Jackson Bill Clinton

Samuel L. Jackson is in a feud with Donald Trump… or at least that’s what Trump thinks, anyway. The actor reacted with surprise to being told of his apparent rivalry with the potential Republican candidate when he appeared on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Tuesday (January 5th).

There to promote his new movie The Hateful Eight, Meyers showed him a barbed Twitter missive that the billionaire had previously sent. “I don’t know Samuel L. Jackson, to best of my knowledge haven’t played golf w/him & think he does too many TV commercials – boring. Not a fan,” Trump tweeted, saying that he and Jackson had not been friends.

Martin Scorsese Scraps Bill Clinton Documentary Over Demands

Martin Scorsese Bill Clinton

Martin Scorsese has scrapped his half-finished Bill Clinton documentary over disagreements about control, people brief on the project told the New York Times. The movie was intended to be released to coincide with Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential run.

Martin ScorseseMartin Scorsese has no plans to finish Bill Clinton documentary after an apparent disagreement

Parts of the movie were shot over the last two years, notably when Mr Clinton made a philanthropic visit to Africa, however, it has now been shelved indefinitely because the former President insisted on more control over the interview questions and the final version. It was more than Mr Scorsese was prepared to give and the project hit a wall.

Sir Elton John Awarded First Brits Icon Award

Elton John Lulu Rod Stewart Bill Clinton Ringo Starr Gary Barlow

There's a new award in town, one that honours those musicians who have made the greatest, most lasting contribution to music in the modern era; the Brits Icon Award. The first ever Icon to be handed out was done so during a spectacular and star-studded show at London's Palladium Theatre, during which the first honouree of the coveted award played a hit-filled set to his adoring peers. That person; Sir Elton John.

Sir Elton became the first honouree of the new award

The gala concert, his first since undergoing surgery for appendicitis earlier this year, saw Elton presented the award by his friend Rod Stewart in front of a celebrity-filled audience that also included Liz Hurley, Lulu, former-President Bill Clinton, Ringo Starr, Gary Barlow and many more. The singing icon received a standing ovation as he took to the stage to collect his award, having been introduced by Stewart, who cheekily referred to the man of the hour as "the second-best rock singer ever."

Justin Bieber Apologises To Bill Clinton After Nightclub Video Goes Viral

Justin Bieber Bill Clinton

Justin Bieber apologised to former President Bill Clinton after footage showing the 19-year-old swearing at his picture went viral. However, the singer did not apologise for publically relieving himself in a night club mop bucket.

The teenager was videoed, supposedly, by one of his friends. The incident occurred in a New York nightclub earlier this year. The footage shows Bieber using a mop bucket to relieve himself. Upon finishing his rather public business, the pop sensation on his way out threw blue liquid on a picture of Clinton and shouted a profanity.

Justin Bieber Urinates In A Bucket And Says "F**k Bill Clinton" In Leaked Vid [Video]

Justin Bieber Bill Clinton

When we didn't think Justin Bieber could possibly get any lower this year he went and smashed right through the basement of lowness. In probably one of the strangest clips we've ever seen, Bieber is seen from behind taking a nice long leak into one of those yellow mop buckets on wheels whilst his crew stand around declaring themselves to be "wild kidz." After the mini-rebel has emptied his bladder into what will later be used to mop the nightclub floor, the gang run off crowing their glee whilst lil Biebs decides to take out his teenage angst on a framed portrait of Bill Clinton. "F**k Bill Clinton" he proclaims, whilst spraying the 42nd president's photo with a bottle of cleaning fluid.

The shaky video, acquired by TMZ.com, cuts out leaving us with a certain cocktail of sickness and confusion to contend with. Some poor, unsuspecting cleaner - working the early hours for minimum pay after the drunken revellers have staggered home - will have had to discover the bucket of urine left by the boy too entitled to find a toilet. The worst part? The group can be heard describing it as "the coolest spot to p*ss" and somewhere to "forever remember," boasting that everyone else goes in the restroom but Bieber is special.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Are PETA's 2013 Sexiest Vegetarians

Kristen Bell Bill Clinton Anne Hathaway Sir Paul McCartney

In an accolade of meat avoidance, Kristen Bell and fiancé Dax Shepard have been crowned animal rights activist PETA's sexiest celebrity vegetarians, in a campaign to spread the word about the benefits of cutting out meat. 32 year-old Bell, who's best known for her titular role in the Veronica Mars television series, revealed that she's been veggie since she was a teen: "I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with-dogs and cats, for example-from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat." This isn't the first time she's been recognised by PETA for her dietary choices - in 2006 she was selected as their 'World's Sexiest Vegetarian' and now it seems she's lifting the crown again with her fiancé and father of her child, Dax Shepard.

Shepard spoke of the benefits of a vegan diet, after being encouraged to follow Bell's example by documentary Forks Over Knives, which advocates a plant-based diet: "I have fewer body aches, my skin looks better, I'm never starving, and I never need to ride the couch feeling completely full and disgusting" he explained to Playboy magazine when he was following a strict no-meat diet. However, it seems that it's only Bell who can truly feel proud of the title:"I'm really flattered to be named 'Sexiest Vegetarian' with ?@IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken," Shepard tweeted. In a shock for PETA, who had been using the publicity as part of their campaign to encourage more people to be vegetarian, Dax added: "I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to be more like ?@IMKristenBell, but I'm not there yet," he said in a follow-up tweet. Oops.

Monica Lewinsky's Lingerie And Letters To Clinton To Go Up For Auction

Monica Lewinsky Bill Clinton

Monica Lewinsky will be airing out her dirty laundry in public once again, only this time she wont be bringing any Presidencies to an end, but rather having some of her belongings put on sale from the Lewinsky scandal. The items from the federal investigation are being sold off by auction house Nate D. Sanders, with online bidding ending this Thursday (June 27).

Among the items being put up for sale include letters between Lewinsky and Andy Bleiler, who was also involved in the Lewinsky as another married man with whom Lewinsky was said to had an affair while she was an intern at the White House, and some items of clothing including a black negligee and a large blue velour hoodie. It does not, however, contain the infamous blue dress which proved in court that the then-intern had extra-marital relationship with Bill Clinton in the 1990s.

The current bid - as of Tuesday (June 25) afternoon - on lot #375 stands at $3,025 and is believed to be worth within the region of $25,000 and $50,000. With only two days to go, the bidding is going to have to be knocked up a peg if it is to meet it's valuation, but how many Monica Lewinsky fanciers willing to pay $50,000 can be out there?

Bill Clinton Snubbed By Led Zeppelin For Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert

Led Zeppelin Bill Clinton

Neither charity nor former President Bill Clinton could persuade Led Zeppelin to reform for last year’s Hurricane Sandy benefit concert, it’s been revealed by the Robin Hood Foundation’s executive director David Saltzman.

As you’ll all probably recall, Saltzman – with the help of entertainment mogul Harvey Weinstein – put together a high profile benefit concert in New York on the December 12, 2012 in aid of those who’d had their homes and lives devastated by the natural disaster. Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen were among the legends to play while all manner of celebs manned the telephone lines during the course of the telethon. However, as Saltzman told CBS, one band refused to get involved.

“There were two bands we were trying to recruit, one was The Rolling Stones and the other was Led Zeppelin,” Saltzman explained to CBS. “Harvey Weinstein had this great idea that he could enlist Bill Clinton to convince Led Zepplin to reunite to perform at the 12/12/12 concert. Harvey and I got on a plane to fly down to Washington to meet Bill Clinton who was going to meet Led Zeppelin, who were being honored at the Kennedy Center.” Continuing he added “Bill Clinton himself asked Led Zeppelin to reunite and they wouldn’t do it.” Thankfully there was one band who would – eventually. “At the airport I literally bumped into Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and he said ‘you tell Harvey Weinstein to f**k off!’” Saltzman said, before adding “And his publicist came up behind him and said ‘they’re going to do it. He’s just joking.’”

'Three Cheers For Bossy Women' - Barbra Streisand's Film Career Toasted At Lincoln Centre

Barbra Streisand Liza Minnelli Tony Bennett Bill Clinton

Last night (April 22, 2013), Barbra Streisand was the centre of attention at the Lincoln Center in New York. The 70 year old actress, singer, and filmmaker received the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 40th annual Chaplin award, CBC News reports. Throughout the evening, tribute was paid to the star, with a variety of musical lumanaries taking to the stage to praise her work, or sending in video messages that were played to those gathered for the glitzy event.

“Ever since I can remember, people have been calling me bossy and opinionated," Streisand said, accepting the award. “Maybe that's because I am. Three cheers for bossy women!" she declared, sparking roars from the star-studded audience. Streisand has won Oscar awards, Tony awards and Emmys for various aspects of her work but last night was solely focused on the entirety of her show-business career. “Thank God I was given a good voice,” she joked.

Paying tribute to the star were the jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, along with singers Liza Minnelli and Tony Bennett. Her former movie co-stars, Omar Sharif, Blythe Danner, Ben Stiller and Robert Redford all chipped in with warm words about the actress. Even President Bill Clinton had a thing or two to say: “Every great person is driven," friend and former U.S. president Bill Clinton said onstage. But if that person has massive talent, big brains and a bigger heart, you want to go along for the ride."

Jennifer Lawrence Chops Hair Off For GLAAD Awards, Internet Explodes [Pictures]

Jennifer Lawrence Bill Clinton

Jennifer Lawrence has done the unthinkable, she's only gone and chopped her hair off. Well, not all over it, but quite a lot of it. The Silver Linings Playbook Oscar-winner debuted a shorter style at the GLAAD Media Awards 2013, presented by Ketel One Vodka. Though she was joined by the likes of Bill Clinton, Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron and Leonardo DiCaprio, Lawrence and her new hairstyle stole the show.

Prior to taking to the stage with movie executive Harvey Weinstein, the actress posed for photographers on the red carpet at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live. Her long blonde locks have given way to shoulder-length layers, similar to Karlie Kloss' chin-lenth chop which the New York Times named "the haircut of the year," in January.

President Bill Clinton? Jennifer Lawrence Fluffs Lines At GLAAD Awards

Bill Clinton Jennifer Lawrence

Bill Clinton’s probably one of the most famous men in the planet, there’s no way you’d ever forget his name – so we’ll put it down to nerves of introducing the man that Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence manage to fluff pronouncing his name at the GLAAD Awards over the weekend.

“We are happy to present GLAAD’s Advocate For Change Award to President Cli… Bill Clinton” fluffed Lawrence, managing to forget he was no longer President anyway, pulling a shocked face and then recovering. As he walked onto the stage the star look distressed, and was heard muttering “of all the things to mess up…” off the microphone. Thankfully Clinton’s a pretty relaxed guy these days, and took it all in his stride, walking on with a big laugh and giving the actress a hug.

The GLAAD awards are run by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender media advocacy organisation of America, and award those who have helped to fight for equal rights for those parties. In a statement explaining why Clinton had received the award, GLAAD’s Wilson Cruz commented: "President Clinton's support of the LGBT community and recognition that DOMA, the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, is unconstitutional and should be struck down shows that the political landscape continues to change in favor of LGBT equality. Leaders and allies like President Clinton are critical to moving our march for equality forward."

Bill Clinton Photobomb Embarrassment For Kelly Clarkson

Bill Clinton Kelly Clarkson

He’s not been President in some 12 years, but you can always rely on Bill Clinton to take the center stage somehow. The popular former leader of the USA made sure that he was among the headline makers at yesterday’s inauguration for the re-election of Barack Obama by sitting himself behind Kelly Clarkson and pulling an amusing face as she got ready to sing ‘My Country Tis Of Thee’.

It’s a really genius photo, Clinton’s face not over the top, but his surprised-looking glance towards Clarkson just enough to completely take all the attention off the multi-million selling singer and squarely onto him. The former Prez can’t help but hog the limelight; remember back in 2008 when he fell asleep during a Martin Luther King speech? Priceless, it appears Bill is more than comfortable doing what he wants, when he wants, how he wants.

Martin Scorsese Reveals Bill Clinton Documentary In The Works

Martin Scorsese Bill Clinton

The Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese is to tackle the life of former President Bill Clinton, the two heavyweights in film and politics coming together for a documentary about the former leader of the free world.

Clinton remains a prominent figure in world politics, working on occasion as an envoy and also putting in a great deal of humanitarian work. In a statement, Scorsese said of him: "A towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world," adding "Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure.” Clinton is working with the director in full co-operation, and will be offering his current views on politics, history, culture and the world.

No other details have been given about the documentary as yet other than it will appear on HBO. It will be interesting to see Scorsese’s take on the former US President; the most ammunition that his detractors have ever been able to fling at him was his ill-fated affair with Monica Lewinsky. Politically he is regarded as one of the most successful American leaders ever, with a recent poll run by Gallup showing that he still has a 66% favorability rating, with his popularity reaching nationwide.

Monica Lewinsky Rumoured To Be Getting $12million For Bill Clinton Memoirs

Bill Clinton Monica Lewinsky Hillary Clinton

At the time it was probably among one the biggest public scandals that a US President could've faced, but times move on and we've pretty much all gotten over the fact that former President Bill Clinton had an affair with his secretary Monica Lewinsky in the mid 90's. We had a good laugh at the endless jokes written about the affair on The Simpsons and then got on with our lives as Clinton showed himself to be a man of regret and patched things up with wife Hilary Clinton.

It's a bit of a surprise then to find out that 14 years on from the affair, Perez Hilton is reporting that the now 39 year-old Lewinsky is going to write a full-disclosure memoir about the events of 1998. More baffling is the fact that publishers are apparently willing to pay a whopping $12 million to give her the privilege of dishing the dirt on the retired President.

"Monica has tried to move forward, but the nightmare of her affair with Bill still haunts her" so say friends of hers. "She's facing 40 without a man in her life, and seething about the way her reputation was destroyed as the whole world watched." We wouldn't dare suggest that Lewinsky hasn't endured a tough time of it since, but it still seems odd that at this stage people would still be so interested in what she has to say.

Bill Clinton shakes the hands of his fans as they step forward for a signed copy and appears to be very friendly and happy. He even signs copies for two young fans and a baby.

This is the third book that Bill has written; his first book, My Life, was published in 2005 and was followed by Giving: How Each of Us Can Change The World in 2007

Wordplay Review

Excellent
I am not particularly a puzzler, but Wordplay, Patrick Creadon's ode to crossword makers and lovers is so reverent and infectious, it's hard not to get caught up in the desire to put letters in all the empty boxes - in pen. I have never so badly wanted to finish a crossword.Wordplay is a fairly unabashed tongue bath of the practice of crosswords, but it's an enthusiastic and cheeky one that does more to rally everyone to get into the nerdy entertainment of puzzles rather than alienate those who can never figure out anything past 2 Down. There are times when this documentary feels like product placement for the New York Times, with all the praise heaped on the paper in general and its puzzle in particular, but Will Shortz, the longtime editor of the Times crossword, is the mega-celebrity of the puzzle world, so perhaps it's fair.Shortz is a lifelong puzzle lover (he even managed to get a self-designed degree from Indiana University in "enigmatology," the study of puzzles) who is both the hero and devil to millions who attempt his daily games. He reads from some of his (amusingly bilious) hate mail, but the film spends far more time with a legion of celebrity fans - including former President Clinton, Jon Stewart, Yankee's pitcher Mike Mussina, and documentarian Ken Burns, among others - who wax poetic about the genius of the daily crossword and the place it holds in American culture. It sounds slightly overblown, but when you watch the ritual these people put into it - folding the paper just so, taking care to select the appropriate writing instrument - it is clearly not an idle pastime.Probably the most instructional is the time spent with Shortz's colleague Merl Reagle, one of the many who actually create the puzzles for the Times, who skims through the rules and artistry involved in making one of these puzzles - that will undoubtedly bring frustration and personal triumph to many - with impressive deftness. And just when the star-studded interviews were beginning to feel like fawning song-and-dance shows, they culminate with the various folks tackling the puzzle we previously saw Reagle create, making for a particularly endearing sequence.Inevitably, this movie will face numerous comparisons to that last documentary in praise of geeky American wordsmiths, Spellbound, and it's not a bad one, especially as the latter half of the film begins to focus on the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament that takes place every spring in Stamford, Connecticut. We meet a few of the notable competitors in the first half of the film, seeing them in their day-to-day lives: A cocky student from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a mild-mannered pianist in New York, an upbeat gay guy living in Florida. It's here, though, that they really settle into their element, minor celebrities among the small group of puzzle enthusiasts devoted to their yearly three-day pilgrimage to a Marriott in suburban Connecticut.Wordplay veers a little far into the sappy when it tries to get across the deep and heartfelt importance that this conference - and puzzles in general - means to these people with slo-mo musical montages and choked-up interviewees, but the competition itself is surprisingly energizing. Especially since it is a bunch of people sitting around filling in crosswords - it's not NASCAR, after all - but you get surprisingly invested in who will come out on top. The real fun of the film, though, is that it maintains that baffled, quirky sense of humor throughout, so the competition itself is interesting, but the best part about it is the table of commentators running a play-by-play of the action. Of filling out a crossword. Who knew such a thing existed? We do now, thanks to Creadon and a documentary that is as sweet and charming as it is fluffy and slight. But that's all right - sometimes all a documentary needs for a resounding moment is one subject giving an earnest interview about how preferable the lively Q is to the uninteresting and dull letter N.

Steven Spielberg Expresses Disappointment For Hollywood Not Supporting John Kerry

Steven Spielberg John Kerry Bill Clinton George W Bush Schindler's List

Genius, legendary filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, has spoken out about how he was incredibly annoyed that Hollywood's A-Listers failed to rally behind the Democrat Presidential candidate, John Kerry, during the election campaign in November 2004. The acclaimed director behind 'Schindler's List', 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Jaws' (amongst others), was a strong supporter for Kerry's unsuccessful Presidency campaign against George W Bush.

Spielberg was especially disappointed to find himself as one of the few influential members of the film industry in support of Kerry. In the 1990s, Hollywood superstars fell over themselves in order to lend their support to the campaign of the highly charismatic Bill Clinton. It is this charisma that Spielberg believes caused the support to come to Clinton, and while Kerry may lack it, Spielberg maintains that he would have made a great leader.
