Country singer Big Kenny is to be honoured in recognition of his charitable work in Sudan.
Big Kenny, real name William Kenneth Alphin, will be presented with the African Children's Choir Malaika Award during the organisation's fourth annual benefit gala in New York City in December (12).
The Big & Rich star will become the second U.S citizen to receive the honour, which is handed to individuals for outstanding work on behalf of Africa's most vulnerable children.
Previous recipients of the award include former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and rocker Bob Geldof.
The pair recently enjoyed their first visit to the interactive experience in New York.
