LATEST: Bosses at cosmetic giants L'Oréal have denied using technology to make Beyonce Knowles' skin lighter in a new ad campaign.
The 26-year-old star is featured in an advertisement for L'Oréal Paris in the September (08) edition of U.S. women's fashion magazine Elle.
Readers were shocked to find the star's skin several shades lighter in the ad, prompting complaints and an investigation by Elle's publisher.
But L'Oreal executives insists the controversy has nothing to do with them.
In a statement, a company spokesman says, "We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign."
