Beyonce and Jay Z, as well as their two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, took in an exhibition from one of their favourite artists, Kara Walker, to celebrate Father's Day on Sunday (15.06.14).
The superstar couple and their two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy enjoyed the special day in New York City, where they visited conceptual artist Kara Walker's new exhibit 'A Subtlety' at the refurbished Domino Sugar Factory on Sunday (15.06.14).
Beyonce, 32, and Jay, 44, are said to be ''big fans'' of Kara, who is renowned for her silhouette figures and expression of race, gender and power.
A source told UsMagazine.com: ''They were both dressed very casual and Beyonce was carrying Blue around the exhibit.''
The exhibit also had sentimental value for Jay, who grew up in Brooklyn and was excited to revisit an old haunt from his younger days.
The 'Holy Grail' rapper was reportedly overheard telling fellow art enthusiasts he was ''really excited to see the exhibit because growing up, he had always seen the Domino Sugar Factory and he had a lot of memories of it''.
Prior to the Father's Day festivities, the couple enjoyed a quiet date night in New York on Saturday (14.06.14), when they went to see Denzel Washington's Broadway play 'A Raisin in the Sun'.
An eyewitness claimed: ''It was just the two of them and looked like a nice little date night. They were trying to be incognito, but people were buzzing that they were there.''
