Bethenny Frankel's instagram photo attracted online attention and caused a "scandal" over the weekend. This is the kind of situation where nobody wins.
No, we don’t even know what former Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel is doing. She’s made some pretty eccentric decisions over the course of her career, but this one has to be the strangest – the former Real Housewife has been photographed, rocking a pair of PJs. So far, so good, there’s nothing out of the ordinary there. Except when you consider that the pajamas belonged to Frankel’s 4-year-old daughter. Are you weirded out yet? There’s sexy and then there’s just plain disturbing. We’ll let you decide for yourself how to classify the instagram shot of 43-year-old Frankel in a 4-year-old’s pair of Hello Kitty PJs.
The point was apparently to prove that Frankel’s Skinnygirl weight loss programme really works. And, admittedly the T-shirt and shorts PJ set does look very snug even on Frankel’s 5-foot-6 frame and she herself doesn’t look dangerously thin (though some instagram users have expressed that sentiment.) Still, for someone with a past of disordered eating, which Frankel has admitted to on several occasions, this type of size declaration just doesn’t seem very healthy.

"I spent my entire life being obsessed with dieting," Frankel told Us Weekly back in 2011. "Bingeing and then fasting or starving. Forbidding everything. That's how I used to be: up and down 5 pounds every single day, to the extremes. My metabolism was totally wrecked."
"BREAKING NEWS! World Scandal: Former reality star, failed talk show host & cocktail maven jokes by wearing her kids' pjs! #itcantbetrue," Frankel quipped Monday on Twitter in reaction to the internet’s misdirected anger. Well, at least she can laugh it off.
Has this SkinnyGirl gone a bit too far?
So the image of her in a pair of children’s pajamas could be considered at the very least a trigger for people still struggling with their own disorders and it is a bit odd that Frankel, who has experienced this first hand, would not stop to consider the possibility. At the end of the day, however, it is her own instagram and the woman didn’t break any of the website’s guidelines. So, rock that HK set, we guess, Mrs. Frankel.
