Battling Bernie Nolan has stunned doctors by defying predictions in February (13) that she had just two weeks to live.
The Nolans singer revealed in October (12) the tragic news that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer just two years after she was given the all-clear from the disease.
Her condition deteriorated rapidly in February and medics estimated she had just a fortnight to live, but the brave star has defied their expectations by refusing to give in to the illness.
The Irish singer's sister Coleen tells U.K. Tv show This Morning, "At the beginning of February Bernie had gone to Blackpool (in England) to visit all the family and was taken ill while she was there. The next thing, we get this phone call saying she has got two weeks at most.
"It's just taken her really quickly. She was struggling to breathe... (Bernie has) an incredible spirit. Every day now is like a bonus... She is fighting every single day and she fights it better than any of us fights it. She has been the one who has been strong for us.
"I found it really hard when I found out about Bernie. I don't know why... It was just so shocking because Bernie had never told us she was worried about anything."
Coleen also revealed the family has been inundated with messages of support on social networking websites, adding, "The main thing I want to say on behalf of Bernie is... everybody out there, thank you so much as it really does mean so much to her."
