Academy award-winning actor SIR Ben Kingsley has no intention of following the lead of a host of other Hollywood stars by signing up for a theatre role.

The GANDHI star can't understand how established film actors, including Kevin Spacey and Joseph Fiennes, can give up movie sets to tread the boards - because he finds the two totally different.

Kingsley, who kickstarted his career with Britain's Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), says, "It's like going from being a landscape artist to being a portrait painter.

"One day, perhaps, but not now. I find cinema utterly thrilling."
