Former DUKES OF HAZZARD star Ben Jones is hoping the upcoming movie
adaptation of the TV show is a big hit because he wants to bring the series
The actor-turned-Georgia politician, who played mechanic COOTER on the
show, has been critical about the movie, which stars Jessica Simpson and JOHNNY
KNOXVILLE, because it isn't as family friendly as the original TV series, but
he hopes it
will prompt TV bosses to bring the cast back.
He says, "I keep pitching the idea of a show called DUKES: THE NEXT
GENERATION, with the original cast and some new kids."
Jones stages a Dukes of Hazzard convention annually at his memorabilia
store in Gatlingburg, Tennessee and insists the show remains a big success.
He says, "People still love Hazzard County."
