Hollywood superstar Ben Affleck was put in his place at the DAYTONA 500 yesterday (15FEB04) - by American PRESIDENT George W Bush.

On his arrival at the Florida car race, the PAYCHECK actor was told some of his duties had been passed over to the US leader.

So, while Affleck drove the pace car, Bush instructed the drivers to start their engines.

Ben said, "They told me I was going to be bumped and I was like, 'Bumped? What are you talking about bumped? Who's bumping me?'

"'The President of the United States.' 'OK, terrific. Guess I'm bumped then.'"

Other celebrities at the race included Whoopi Goldberg and Leann Rimes, who sang the national anthem.
