British musician KARINE POLWART stole the show at last night's (14FEB05) BBC RADIO 2 FOLK AWARDS in London by scooping three gongs.

The Scottish singer-songwriter won Best Album for her debut offering FAULTLINES, Best Song and the Achievement In Music In 2004 award.

MARTIN CARTHY was named Folk Singer Of The Year as well as winning the Best Traditional Track award. Folk pioneers TOM PAXTON and RAMBLIN' JACK ELLIOT were both honoured with Lifetime Achievement awards at the ceremony held at the British capital's The Brewery.
