Belinda Carlisle has launched her own home accessories line.
The 'Heaven Is a Place on Earth' singer has teamed up with New York's Bergdorf Goodman to create the range, entitled Belinda, which has been made from textiles woven in India, where she has lived part-time for the past two years.
The pieces are sewn by women in Calcutta in association with the Shuktara Project, which provides care for abandoned children with disabilities and a portion of sales will benefit the organisation.
Speaking of the range - which retails from $15 to $2,000 and includes tabletop items and one-of-a-kind bedspreads - Belinda said: ''I never thought I'd be doing anything like this. But Bergdorf's approached me while I was doing press for my book three years ago. At first it was a way for me to feel better about all the shopping I do while I'm in India, but it's been a great challenge to put on a business thinking cap.''
Belinda also said that while said she doesn't have plans to go into apparel, she is interested in travel items and yogawear.
But she added to WWD: ''Right now, the name of The Game is looking for a partner to produce a more affordable home line.''
