The Training Day star appeared opposite Julie Delpy in the original 1995 romance, and they reprised their roles for a 2004 follow-up, Before Sunset, which picks up the story nine years later.
The actors were recently rumoured to have shot a third movie, Before Midnight, in secret but Hawke insists the film is still in the planning stages.

Before Midnight will be the couple's third low-key romance with director Richard Linklater - their follow-up to 2004's Before Sunset.
According to CinemaBlend.com, the film wrapped this week (begs03Sep12) and will be up for grabs to distributors at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada by Friday (07Sep12).
Delpy and Hawke's characters, Celine and Jesse, will reunite in Greece, reports Deadline.com.

Before Sunrise star Julie Delpy was stunned to find a finger in a cup of coffee.
The French actress made the grizzly discovery while looking for a caffeine hit in a coffee shop near her home.
She tells Empire Magazine, "I felt something in my mouth and I pulled it out and it was a chunk of skin. You couldn't mistake it because you could see the fingerprint lines on the skin, it was disgusting."
Delpy will both star and direct a new biography about real-life vampire ELIZABETH BATHORY, who used to bathe in the blood of virgins - and Hawke will play her leading man, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
