Coming out of the South-London hub of Peckham, psych-pop trio Beaty Heart are set to welcome in the New Year in the form of new single, 'Kanute's Comin' Round'. Set to be released by Nusic Sounds on 3rd March 2014 'Kanute.' is another taste from the band's debut record 'Mixed Blessings', which was recorded with Dave Eringa and is due for release this Spring.
Like their old acquaintance, who Beaty Heart are in ode too on 'Kantue's Comin' Round, Beaty Heart's music is psychedelically charming, but not with out a tongue-in-cheek attitude and pulsating personality.
Following on from their previous single 'Lekka Freakout', 'Kanute..' continues and marks the bands journey towards their eagerly anticipated debut album and has already picked up plays from Radio 1's Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart & Alice Lavine, daytime play from 6Music's Radcliff and Maconie and XFM's John Kennedy.
Recorded during their album sessions, between the Summer and tail end of 2013, with Dave Eringa, 'Kanute's Comin' Round' sees the band develop and progress from what The Independent described as "Animal Collective-like psych pop" and stamp their own musical imprint on their "tropical, pop-infected cut" (Clash), whilst retaining their strong percussive backbone, off-kilter left-field ethos and lyrical wit, as well as influential cues from The Beach Boys, Olivia Tremor Control and J.G Ballard.
After recently playing for BBC Introducing at London's KOKO, Beaty Heart will be releasing 'Kantue's Comin' Round' on 3rd March via Nusic and will be playing the following shows:
11-Feb-2014 - Huw Stephens Presents.@ The Social, London
20-Feb-2014 - Moles, Bath
04-Mar-2014 - The Alex, Southampton
06-Mar-2014 - Single Launch - Paper Dress Vintage, London
