A few members and associates of the Beatles are set to get together in Las Vegas on 8 June to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Cirque Du Soleil's 'Love', the music-driven circus show from THE Beatles' legacy. According to USA Today, former Beatles star Paul McCartney, producer George Martin and John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono will all be present.
To celebrate the show's recent success, Olivia Harrison, George Harrison's widow, who also began the show in 2000 with Cirque founder Guy Laliberté, will be in attendance, whilst Ringo Starr who is currently on tour overseas, plans to send a videotaped message which will air during the show. Jerry Nadal, senior vice president of Cirque's resident shows, stated to USA Today: 'You can see the staying power of the Beatles. For the first year or two, we got a lot of hardcore Beatles fans who had never seen a Cirque show. They said, 'Wow, that's Cirque? I want to see another one.' 'Love' which features a mash-up of over 130 song samples in 26 tracks, premiered in Vegas on 30 June 2006.
The Beatles entourage had last gathered together in 2009 in Los Angeles for the launch of 'The Beatles: Rock Band' and their re-mastered Beatles catalog.
