The music of the Beatles is coming to a video game player near you - Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the widows of their bandmates have given the brains behind the ROCK BAND phenomenon permission to use their music for the first time.
The Beatles: Rock Band will hit stores around the world in September (09), and will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
The game will come with a limited number of instruments issued that are modelled after guitars, basses and drums used by John Lennon, MCCartney, George Harrison and Starr.
The project is being overseen by Giles Martin, the son of legendary Beatles producer Sir George Martin.
The Beatles' Apple Corps CEO Jeff Jones says, "This game will take you on a journey from the Beatles first album Please Please Me until the last album at Abbey Road."
MCCartney adds, "I like people having the opportunity to get to know the music from the inside out."
