Bat For Lashes star Natasha Khan has blamed a "nightmare" bus journey for the cancellation of her slot at Spain's Benicassim festival on Thursday (12Jul12).
The singer was scheduled to play the event's Trident Senses Stage but she pulled out at the last minute after she and her bandmates were left stranded when their tour bus broke down.
She tells NME.com, "The bus broke down the day before and we spent 24 hours on a motorway layby with just a toilet and no food. The gearbox broke. A bus came and picked us up at three in the morning and then at six in the morning that bus broke down as well. We ended up missing the show because we couldn't get flights out there. It was a nightmare."
The Brit, who returned to her native U.K. to perform at Latitude Festival on Sunday (15Jul12), has promised to make up for the no-show by scheduling live dates in Spain later this year (12).
A statement from her management adds, "Natasha would like to apologise to all her fans that have made the trip (to Benicassim) and promises to come to Spain and play some headline shows this autumn."
