Bat For Lashes What's a Girl To Do? Single

It's hard not to compare the sound of Natasha Khan/Bat For Lashes to the equally chilling, thrilling and mysterious sound of Bjork both are so very similar. The only difference is that Bat For Lashes is new, fresh and we're not yet sick of it. Bat For Lashes is also very comparable to the style of Cansei De Ser Sexy (CSS) and she's equally as vibrant. There is no doubting that this girl has amazing talent that could possibly carry her to the same high level of success that Bjork once had or to the current achievements of CSS.

Originally spending parts of her childhood in Pakistan, Natasha now lives by the sea in England. She tends to use her surroundings as inspiration for her music. Her song 'Horse and I' came from a dream Natasha had, the same dream is said to have fuelled the mysterious but wonderful debut album 'Fur and Gold'.

'What's a Girl To Do?' uses mystifying keyboard sounds matched with the convincing voice of Bat For Lashes. I think Natasha has a great eye for telling a story. Everything she sings about you can visualize, it makes it so much more magical. This is a haunting and stunning release from a likely success of the future.

7/10
