Veteran entertainer Barry Manilow was forced to perform twice at an annual U.K. variety show after the event was blighted by technical problems.
The Mandy legend was one of the stars taking part in the Royal Variety Performance in Manchester, England earlier this week (begs05Dec11) in front of Queen Elizabeth II's daughter, Princess Anne.
The show was being recorded ready to air on British TV later this month (Dec11), but the production was struck with a series of problems.
Manilow had to start his set again after sound issues meant he could not keep up with the band, telling the audience as he left the stage, "The whole tune was wrong, I was singing in the wrong place."
The event also delayed star performers Tony Bennett and Nicole Scherzinger, who had to wait around to perform due to the technical problems.
A statement from Itv, the network in charge of televising the event, reads, "There were some minor technical difficulties during the recording of the show but these will not affect the programme broadcast on Itv1."
