LATEST: Embattled US talk show host STAR JONES REYNOLDS has launched another scathing attack on former boss Barbara Walters insisting she "didn't have my back". Jones Reynolds announced that she was leaving The View, live on air on Tuesday morning (27JUN06), stunning her co-workers and the audience. She called American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning show on Wednesday (28JUN06), claiming she was the one who was actually betrayed by Walters, not the other way around. She claims the animosity began when she found out her contract was not being renewed after nine years and that rival ROSIE O'DONNELL was being added as a co-host. She said, "I honestly understood it was a business decision when I was told then (that her contract wasn't being renewed), but then in the same week, I was told that they were adding another co-host and that it was Rosie O'Donnell. And that was in the same week that she had been so nasty and insulting and vicious. "(She) publicly she insulted me; she tried to damage me professionally and personally. If anyone should feel betrayed, then it should probably be me. "Because in the same week that I was told I was not being renewed, that's the same week that Rosie O'Donnell vilified me in the media and the exact same week that Barbara, my mentor, my colleague and friend of nine years, called her and invited her to be co-host on The View. She didn't have my back." Jones Reynolds is set to tell-all on Larry King LIVE on Thursday night (29JUN06).
