President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle were wedding guests at a ceremony in Kenwood, Chicago, over the weekend. The couple and their children were flanked by U.S. Secret Service agents as they headed to the reception, reports the Chicago Sun-Times

Earlier, several black SUV's had raced through the closed-off streets of Kenwood and Hype Park, though the famous family eventually emerged by foot from their house one block away - leading locals trying to catch a glimpse of the President. Michael Buchanan, who drove to the security perimeter surrounding the wedding venue said, "We just want to be a part of history". Despite taking place in the President's home neighbourhood , it was still a surprise to see the world's most powerful man attend the wedding of his senior advisor Valerie Jarrett's daughter. It's actually the first time the President has taken a trip with his family in two years.

For most of the evening, the famous guests kept a low profile, and didn't actually arrive at the wedding until 6pm. The ceremony was set under a giant white tent set up in the backyard of Valerie Jarrett's mother's home. President Obama opted for a tan suit, while the First Lady wore a sleeveless shimmering green top, with cream pleated skirt. Daughters Sasha and Malia both looked elegant in green and yellow dresses respectively.
