Band Aid 20's charity single DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS? has claimed Britain's Christmas number one slot after topping the UK singles chart for a third week.

The track - featuring stars including Robbie Williams, Dido and BONO - has sold more than 600,000 copies in just three weeks, knocking its festive rival Father and Son, by Irish hunk Ronan Keating and Yusuf Islam, to number two.

The track was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1984 original, which sold 3.5 million copies, while this year's (04) version is expected to sell one million copies, which would raise almost $6 million (GBP3 million) for charity projects in Africa.

Australian beauty Kylie Minogue's I BELIEVE IN YOU fell one place to number three, followed by YOU CAN DO IT by ICE CUBE FEAT MACK 10 + MS TOI.

I GOT YOU BABE, British comedy character Avid Merrion's rival charity track for recovering drug addicts is a new entry at number five.
