New Zealand singer songwriter Bachelorette's new single, 'Blanket', is taken from her self-titled third album, which was released through Souterrain Transmissions on May 16th 2011.
The video was directed by Steven Gris and shows Bachelorette in close up and in many different colours, including blue, white, pink and orange, creating an effect that's as psychedelic as the song itself.
Bachelorette - also known as Annabel Alpers - has previously played in cult bands such as Hawaii Five-O; the Hiss Explosion and Space Dust, before completing a degree in computer-based composition at university and relocating to the East Coast of the USA. Her third album was mixed in Brooklyn by Nicholas Vernhes.
Bachelorette has recently completed a UK and European tour. Her live shows have received acclaim for performing with a 'band' of three old CRT monitors which were borrowed from friends or bought from recycling stations. They create waveforms while Annabel plays a variety of instruments alongside.
