Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty admits he's finally experiencing the thrill of making music - now people realise he's a serious artist.
Newly drug-free Doherty is blaming his addiction for scuppering his credibility as a singer/songwriter.
Doherty - whose drug habit forced him to leave former band The Libertines in 2004 - is currently working on his first solo album, due for completion later this year (08).
He says, "I'm only now starting to enjoy making music - I'm only just starting to be allowed to.
"When people get us into a room together now, they actually treat us like musicians."
