No-one likes a guy who takes himself way too seriously, but that's not stopping Axl Rose from going absolutely ape about a particularly unflattering snap of him floating around the internet captioned by a multitude of fat jokes. He's probably managed to double the memes by now.

Axl RoseHas Axl Rose gone too far?

So the new AC/DC singer has taken out a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) on all replications of a certain photograph of him performing live at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada 6 years ago; he's looking less than his best and, to put it bluntly, a little chunky. As such, he's been turned into a string of memes captioned 'Sweet Piles Of Pie', 'Welcome To The Jungle, We Got Lots Of Cake' and 'Estupido Y Gordo' among many more.

Copyright claims have been sent by Web Sheriff to Blogspot and GoogleUserContent asking that the photo be taken down. 'Copyright image of Axl Rose. Please be advised that no permission has been granted to publish the copyright image so we cannot direct you to an authorized example of it', the notice read, according to TorrentFreak.

It could be argued that the photo is not Axl Rose's property to take down, but the photographer who took the shot. However, TorrentFreak was told in a statement by Web Sheriff that many photographers sign wavers transferring ownership to the party of the subject. 'We can gladly confirm that all official/accredited photographers at [Axl Rose] shows sign-off on 'Photography Permission' contracts/'Photographic Release' agreements which A) specify and limit the manner in which the photos can be exploited and B) transfer copyright ownership in such photos to AR's relevant service company', they said.

Google are yet to comply with the terms of the copyright notice. Even if the photo does get taken down though, that's hardly going to be the end of the mean memes.
