Avril Lavigne is getting married in her ''favourite place to be''.
The 'Here's To Never Growing Up' hitmaker is set to tie the knot with Chad Kroeger in Cannes, France, on Monday (01.07.13) and kicked off her three-day celebration on Saturday (29.06.13) with a huge rehearsal dinner bash.
A source close to the 28-year-old Canadian star told E! News: ''(Avril) picked Cannes because she's spent significant time in Paris in the past few years and summered in places like St. Tropez. She's very immersed in French food, ambiance and culture. It's her favourite place to be.''
The insider revealed that there wouldn't be many celebrity guests at the couple's lavish wedding but former 'X Factor' USA judge L.A. Reid is expected to attend.
The 'Girlfriend' singer and the Nickleback frontman, 38, are keeping the location of their nuptials a closely guarded secret and guests will only find out after they are picked up at their hotel and driven to the venue on Monday evening.
The singer, who split from her first husband Deryck Whibley in 2010, previously revealed she moved to France for four months after their divorce to spend some time alone.
She said: ''I got there and I didn't know anyone. I booked French classes with Berlitz, five days a week, and I thought worst-case scenario if I don't met anybody I'll just be doing school everyday.
''But I did, I met a lot of people. It was cool. I felt like a little girl. I felt really like myself again. It was my first time ever being alone and quiet.''
