Funnyman Mike Myers is set to turn an Indian guru character he has been trying out on the New York comedy circuit into his latest movie project.
The Austin Powers star has been performing as spiritual leader PITKA at Big Apple comedy clubs, wearing a fake nose, beard and a white robe.
And now he has perfected the role, Myers will turn Pitka into his next movie project, bringing Austin Powers in Goldmember's second unit director MARCO SCHNABEL on board to direct.
In the planned film, Myers' character will attempt to solve a couple's intimacy problems by using ancient wisdom.
Singer/actress Beyonce Knowles has hailed her DREAMGIRLS director Bill Condon as a contender for the 2007 Academy Awards.
The former DESTINY'S CHILD star credits Condon for giving her her first "real acting role" after supporting performances in Austin Powers in Goldmember and The Fighting Temptations.
Even though the film isn't released in America until next month (DEC07), the Oscar rumours have been circling Knowles and her co-star Jamie Foxx for several months.
However, modest Knowles says, "If anyone gets an Oscar for this movie it'll be the director.
"I don't know about my chances, but I hope I'll be in the audience when he wins an Oscar."
Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx constantly teased Beyonce Knowles on the set of DREAMGIRLS, because she's still relatively new to the acting game.
Knowles has labelled her role as 1960s soul singer DEENA JONES her "first acting job", despite supporting performances in Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations and The Pink Panther.
The former DESTINY'S CHILD singer was thrilled to be working with "very professional" Foxx, but admits he loved to joked around on set.
She says, "We had a fight scene where he was off camera, he was saying crazy things to me that weren't in the script and getting me all worked up.
"Afterwards I was like, 'Thank you Jamie, thank you.' He was cussing me out big time."
Beyonce Knowles had to get so mean and moody for her role in new movie DREAMGIRLS, she almost destroyed her relationships with her friends, family and boyfriend SHAWN 'JAY-Z' CARTER.
The singer-turned-actress took a method approach to prepare for the part of starlet DEENA, her first character movie, after brief parts in Austin Powers in Goldmember and The Pink Panther.
But she got so deeply involved with her character's emotions, she began punishing those closest to her.
Beyonce says, "The material was very difficult in that I had to be moody and angry to make the role work.
"I was creating drama in my life so that I had something to feed off. I was mad at everyone and they were thinking, 'What did I do?'
"It was scary for people around me. They suddenly saw a change and were quite frightened at times. That was the only way I could really make it work and build myself up for the part."
Music producer Quincy Jones is desperate for fans to forget one of his catchiest tunes after the Austin Powers movies somersaulted the track to enduring international renown.
SOUL BOSSA NOVA was used as the theme for 1997 JAMES BOND spoof AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY, as well as follow-ups AUSTIN POWERS: THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME and Austin Powers in Goldmember.
But Quincy is so fed up of hearing the track's opening bars, he regrets ever lending his hit to the Mike Myers-starring franchise.
He says, "It's been around 42 years and I still can't get rid of it!
"I thought I had swept it under the carpet but then along comes Mike Myers - The Spy Who Shagged Me...
"He sure shagged me with it!"
Pop star Beyonce Knowles can't wait for audiences to see her fourth feature film DREAMGIRLS, because it will be "the first time" she acts.
The R+B star has made three movies so far, including Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations and the forthcoming The Pink Panther, but insists she hasn't really "acted" properly in the roles.
She explains, "I get to really show a range and really get to act for the first time."
The R+B star is poised to make her movie debut playing DOROTHY in a remake of The Wizard of Oz.
