Comedy remakes and sequels ruled the US box office over the Easter weekend (25-27MAR05) with Ashton Kutcher's new race farce and Sandra Bullock's return as GRACIE HART topping the cinema chart.

Kutcher's new release Guess Who, which teams him with OCEAN'S TWELVE star Bernie Mac, raked in $21 million (GBP11 million) in its debut weekend, while Bullock's Miss Congeniality 2: ARMED + Fabulous came in second with $14.5 million (GBP7.6 million).

Horror film sequel THE RING TWO slipped to third with a $13.8 million (GBP7.3 million) second-weekend take.

No other new releases dented the top 10, but OSCAR winner MILLION DOLLAR BABY edged ever closer to the $100 million (GBP52.6 million) mark with a $2.6 million (GBP1.4 million) weekend to come in at number 10 on the new box office list.

The CLINT EASTWOOD-directed film has now made $94.2 million (GBP49.6 million).
