The Disney Channel will air a special cast reunion to mark a decade since the film first aired.
Can you believe it’s been ten years since we were first introduced to High School Musical? No we can’t either. But to mark a decade since the movie’s Disney Channel premiere, members of the cast have reunited for a special sit-down celebrating all things HSM which will air on Wednesday (January 20th).
Vanessa Hudgens is among the HSM cast members reuniting for the film’s 10th anniversary.
Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman have all taken part, with the reunion being filmed at a high school gym in suburban Los Angeles. But one essential cast member was missing, Zac Efron, who played Troy Bolton.

Ashley Tisdale expresses her love for fiancé Christopher French when revealing they collaborated on the singer's new track dedicated to her late grandfather: "It Doesn't Get Any Better."
Ashley Tisdale has had a moment of highs and lows in 2013.
This past August (2013) the 28 year-old became engaged to her boyfriend of 8 months Christopher French.
But only three months ago her beloved grandfather died and Tisdale stated on Instagram that her new single, 'You're Always Here', is dedicated to him.

Recently engaged actress and musician, Ashley Tisdale, wore an aesthetically exuberantly and engagingly tight dress which didn't help with her efforts to pass by the paparazzi incognito. The Disney star who featured in High School Musical refused to pose for photographers and left fans disappointed as she entered the Hotel.
Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Scary Movie 5 premiere 30 minutes after the red-carpet was supposed to close.
Lindsay Lohan arrived fashionably late to the premiere of Scary Movie 5 in Hollywood last night. We say fashionably late, what we actually mean is she arrived 30 minutes AFTER the red carpet was due to close and moments before the movie was about to start. Lohan - who is rehab bound - posed for a couple of solo photos before being joined by co-star Charlie Sheen. The actress wore a sleek knee-length dress, which worked well with tousled auburn hair. It's safe to say she was very much the star of the show and photographers jostled for position to get the perfect snap.
Lohan and Sheen exchanged greetings and took pictures together before Sheen left her to her press duties. However, there was little for the waiting journalists as Lohan was rushed into the screening with her publicist in tow, having no time to stop and greet her fans who had congregated outside the theatre holding up 'Team Lohan' signs. Who in their right mind would... forget it. Though Lohan was the main event, the likes of Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Mike Tyson, Heather Locklear, Kate Walsh and Jerry O'Connell attended the premiere too.
The actress flew into Los Angeles from New York very early on Thursday morning (April 11, 2013) and is scheduled to attend the Coachella music festival in Indio, California, this weekend. However, according to TMZ.com, the actress is telling friends she "doesn't care about all the snipers who are scoffing" at her rehabilitation and insists she will stay clean at the festival, which she, err, enjoyed last year. A judge in her criminal case has warned her to stay away from people who do drugs or alcohol, which could be problematic at Coachella, headlined this year by The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Megan Fox is ready to start expressing herself in 140 characters or less, having finally signed up to Twitter. There's been plenty of fake accounts for the Hollywood actress in recent years, but the good old blue verification check mark proves the latest profile is definitely the Transformers star.
So what did Fox tell followers in her very first tweet? Well, it was all very anti-climatic really. "I'm incredibly late to the party but I'm here nonetheless, so what now?" she wrote. The actress - who recently starred in This Is 40 - describes herself as a "Lover. Healer. Mother" in her Twitter bio and has already snagged 36,000 followers. However, it seems as though she's from the Kanye West school of Twitter etiquette and is following absolutely nobody back. Megan Fox doesn't care what you think or say.
The 26-year-old has some way to go to catch up with fellow entertainers Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, who have nearly 100 million Twitter followers between them. OK, so comparing her to the three biggest pop stars on the planet is a little unfair. Perhaps, she could aim to match someone like Tyra Banks, Kourtney Kardashian or Ashley Tisdale, who each hold around 8 million followers. Catch up Megan.

Scary Movie is back!
And this one might actually be, hold on to your seats, pretty good. The first trailer released for the fifth installment in the franchise shows Ashley Tisdale, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan and company taking the, well, you-know-what out of every blockbuster movie or pop culture sensation of the past couple of years and they really do have some funny one-liners in the process. “I’ve come back from worse than this,” groans Charlie Sheen (as himself) after taking a door to the groin. Subtle? Perhaps not, but it’s this kind of self awareness that attracts Scary Movie’s target audience into the theatre. That and a bunch of 'things falling on heads' gags, of course. Hey, no one said it was going to be mature.
Now, this might be just a case of “you see it all in the trailer”, but this might be worth seeing even for the format alone. For this most recent installment, the franchise goes into the “found footage” genre of horror, most notably ripping the Paranormal Activity series. The trailer also features references to Inception and Black Swan and who can resist poking fun at films that take themselves that seriously?

Disney's hit film High School Musical is to be transformed into a West End stage show, it has been confirmed.
The musical will open with a ten-week run at London's Hammersmith Apollo in June, though the actors stepping into the shoes of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale are yet to be cast.
Some 250 million viewers have watched High School Musical since its 2006 debut, according to Disney, with the soundtracks for the first film in the franchise and its subsequent sequel becoming global best sellers.
Based on the plot of the first TV movie, the stage show will tell of high school couple Troy and Gabriella, a mismatched pair from different social groups who try out for the lead parts in the school musical.
Commenting on the confirmation of the London show, Disney spokesman Steve Fickinger said: "I think the reason High School Musical has been so successful is that kids really enjoy aspirational stories.
"Like Buzz Lightyear saving the day or Cinderella going to the ball, kids can really relate to that."
The announcement of the ten-week London run comes as the box office opens for the 31-date High School Musical UK tour.
Some £9 million worth of advance tickets have already been sold for the touring production, which begins this week in Bromley, south London.
A third instalment in the record-breaking High School Musical franchise was confirmed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Productions earlier this month.
After the smash success of the first two TV movies, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is to be given a cinema release, making its Stateside bow on October 24th.
As well as launching the careers of leads Efron and Hudgens, the franchise has spawned a staggeringly popular range of merchandise.
