Ashley Judd only agreed to star in new movie BUG after her agent warned her against taking the role.
The actress admits she was inspired by the suggestion she may not be able to handle the film adaptation of Tracy Lett's off-Broadway play.
Judd - who plays a drug-taking cocktail waitress in the movie - says, "I don't think she was intentionally using reverse psychology, but that's the effect it had. I think I became willing to take the part on before I had, in fact, read the script. Plus, there is a part of me that gets really competitive with my own creativity. Like, 'Oh! You think I can't do it? Really? Then, OK...'"
