Veteran singer/songwriter JIMMY WEBB will receive the American Society Of Composers, Authors And Publishers Voice Of Music award at the ASCAP's upcoming country awards show. The MACARTHUR PARK star will pick up the honour at the ceremony on 23 October (06) at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. In a career spanning 40 years, Webb has written for musicians including Glen Campbell. His HIGHWAYMAN song formed the name of the supergroup comprising Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. Previous recipients of the Voice Of Music award have included Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks and GEORGE STRAIT.
