American actor Zac Efron suffered a freak accident in his own home which resulted in a broken jaw.

Just as the 26 year-old was getting back on his feet, following a rehab stint earlier this year, he is hit with another setback.

The incident occurred on Sunday (Nov 10th) at his LA home.

According to E!News, Efron slipped in the entrance to his house on a puddle of water he didn't see. The fall was so severe Zac's mouth has had to be wired shut when he arrived at hospital as well as having stiches to close a large gash on the actor's chin.

The 'Parkland' star is expected to make a full recovery but his fans will not be seeing that famous smile for quite some time.

Efron has been forced to postpone plans to promote his upcoming comedy film 'That Awkward Moment', where he stars alongside Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan.

The film follows the three pals who vow to stay single after they find themselves in relationships that don't seem to be heading anywhere. It is set for release in January 2014.

The 'High School Musical' alum will be next seen in Seth Rogen's 'Neighbors', a comedy that follows the unlucky couple with a new-born, who are forced to live next to lively frat house. Efron plays a rowdy partygoer called 'Teddy Sanders', opposite Rogen and Rose Bryne.

It was during the shooting of the making of 'Neighbors' that Efron finally got help for alcohol and cocaine abuse, since then he is reportedly clean and wants to put his party lifestyle behind him.
