Woody Allen's 'Magic in the Moonlight': Everything You Need To Know
Could Woody Allen continue his good run with Magic in the Moonlight?
Woody Allen has revealed that his next movie, set in the South of France, will be titled Magic in the Moonlight. The prolific director, who is back to making one movie per year, refused to give up any further details on the project though it appears to be set sometime in the 1930s. As the Los Angeles Times points out, the title could be a reference to Dean Martin's ballad Magic is the Moonlight.

Something else we do know about the movie is the cast. It stars Colin Firth, Emma Stone, Jackie Weaver, Marcia Gay Harden, Eileen Atkins, Hamish Linklater, Simon McBurney, Paul Ritter, Erica Leerhsen, Catherine McCormack and Jeremy Shamos.
The movie is being produced by Allen's long-time trusted associates Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum. A distributor is yet to be found, though judging by the success of Woody's previous efforts, this shouldn't be a problem.
His latest movie Blue Jasmine is still in theaters having made a massive $31.7 million domestically while generating critical acclaim for lead actress Cate Blanchett, who is now the strong favorite to win Best Actress at the Oscars in March 2014. The movie itself has an outside shot at being considered for Best Picture, while Allen will almost certainly get the nod for Best Screenplay.
"Woody has snapped to wakefulness, his comic and dramatic synapses firing off with an old ease that's deeply gratifying. You needn't even place it in Allen's very top rank to call it his best in about two decades," wrote Tim Robey of the Daily Telegraph.
"Allen's best film in years, astute, humane and shot through with keen observations on the state of the world," said Simon Braund of Empire magazine.
The movie continues a remarkable run for the legendary New Yorker, who has helmed To Rome With Love, Midnight in Paris, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Whatever Works, Vicky Christina Barcelona and Match Point in the last eight years.
Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight will hit theaters sometime in 2014.
